Announcing IDB-KAUST STEAM Innovation Challenge
In the last few years, the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) has been at the forefront of creating an innovation friendly environment. IDB has done this through exhibitions, innovation competitions, workshops and other trainings with partner institutions around the world.
The STEAM (Science, Engineering, Arts & Mathematics) Innovation Challenge is a brand new, one of a kind, two-day intensive weekend ideation event sponsored by IDB. It will take place at the King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) on April 29 and 30, 2016.
During the STEAM Innovation Challenge, KAUST and other Saudi University students will be working in mixed, interdisciplinary teams to develop and present well-defined solutions to three major real world challenges. IDB is the sponsor of this competition and has provided the challenges to be undertaken in the competition. The IDB will also play a role in mentoring and judging the winners.
Students who will take part in this activity will have a background or expertise in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics and will be placed in teams by the event organizers.
After 48 hours, each team will formulate and present a solution with the help of a range of experts. Certificate of completion will be awarded, along with a first, second and third team prizes.
Participation in this competition is by invitation only.
